About TrustonTap

A business built to change the way we care.

TrustonTap was founded ten years ago to fix a system that wasn’t working. A decade on, we’re the trusted name for hundreds of UK families — and the home of choice for hundreds of professional carers. This is our story, and the team behind it.

The founder story

It started with family.

Before TrustonTap was a business, it was a family search for the right kind of care at home. What the Cottons couldn’t find for Antonia’s mother became the company they set out to build for other families like theirs.

“My mother had Parkinson’s. Finding her the right care at home was one of the hardest things our family has ever done. The agencies we tried were expensive, inflexible and impersonal. Carers came and went, barely staying long enough to learn her name. We were left wanting — and we knew we weren’t alone”

Antonia Cotton, Founder & Marketing Director

“I was frustrated by the hurdles placed in front of people simply wanting good care for someone they loved. Costs were high, choice was poor, and the carers themselves — the people doing the work — were underpaid, undervalued and leaving the sector. There had to be a better way.”

William Cotton, Founder & CEO

Why we built TrustonTap

Two minutes with William and Antonia on why we started TrustonTap — the family experience that began it, and the model we’ve spent a decade refining since.

A decade of doing the work

From one home in Oxfordshire to families across the home counties.

We started in Oxfordshire with one mission: to find a better way to deliver care at home.
Ten years on, the same model is supporting families across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, with our network of local carers growing
every month.

What we believe

Good care starts with valued carers.

The thing we kept hearing, from families, from agencies, from carers themselves, was that good carers were leaving the sector because the sector wasn’t worth staying in. We built TrustonTap around the opposite assumption.

Carers are the heart of this business

When carers are well paid, supported and trusted, they stay in the sector longer, build deeper relationships with the families they visit, and deliver better outcomes. Everything else flows from this.

Care belongs in the community, not in offices

The best care isn’t delivered from a central rota. It’s delivered by people who live nearby, know the area, and are part of the same community as the families they support. Local roots are what make care personal.

Technology should serve people, not replace them

Our platform exists to remove the friction of rotas, payments and admin, so carers, families and franchise partners can focus on what really matters: building relationships and delivering great care.

What’s next

Local businesses, run by local people, backed by a national platform.

After ten years of refining the model, we know what it takes to deliver outstanding care in a local community. We also know that the next stage of growth belongs to local partners. People who can build relationships, recruit great carers and grow the brand in their own area, supported by the systems and platform we’ve already built. That’s why we’re franchising. And why we’re looking for partners who want to combine commercial success with meaningful work.
