FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
A few of the questions we hear most often from prospective franchise partners. Anything not covered here will be in the prospectus — or feel free to ask on your introductory call.
About the opportunity
TrustonTap is a technology-enabled introductory care agency. Rather than employing carers and managing complex rotas like a traditional agency, we connect families directly with trusted, vetted, self-employed carers through our platform. This delivers care more efficiently, with greater quality and consistency, resulting in higher carer motivation and excellent customer satisfaction.
It is a proven business, not a start-up concept. TrustonTap has 10 years of operational experience, with over 500,000 hours of care delivered, more than 400 carers on the platform, and a 4.9-star average rating from over 1,000 reviews. The franchise opportunity is about scaling a tested model nationally.
The UK home care market is growing at around 10% a year, driven by an ageing population. Around 90% of over-75s prefer care at home over residential care, and approximately 2 million people in the UK have unmet care needs. Traditional models struggle with high operating costs, staffing shortages and inflexible rota-driven care, leaving significant room for a leaner, modern alternative.
Your role as a franchise partner
You are the face of the brand in your dedicated territory, focused on relationships, growth and quality of service. Your role centres on five things: building relationships with local families and referral partners; attracting, selecting and onboarding carers; developing local awareness of the TrustonTap brand; supporting customers and carers; and growing the business through referrals.
No. Carers on the TrustonTap platform are self-employed. You will not directly employ carers, manage complex rotas, register with CQC, or invest in expensive infrastructure.
No care sector experience is needed. We provide the training, systems and support. What matters most is your attitude, energy and commitment. The key attributes we look for are: entrepreneurial and driven, determined and self-motivated, strong people skills, community-minded, empathetic, organised and professional, an excellent communicator, a strong networker, and quality-driven.
The business is home-based, or you can operate from a small serviced office if preferred. There is no large office requirement.
A people-focused, relationship-driven business with strong commercial potential. It is designed around a low overhead structure, recurring revenue from ongoing customer relationships, strong market demand driven by long-term demographic trends, and scalable growth from initial customers to a substantial local operation.
Training and support
You will receive a comprehensive initial training programme, with hands-on support before and during launch. Ongoing, you have access to our end-to-end technology platform (carer engagement, onboarding, matching, bookings and payments), CRM and operational tools, continuous system development, website presence and digital marketing, local marketing guidance and tools, lead generation support, customer service support, payments and administration, ongoing operational guidance, and safeguarding policies and guidance.
A licence for a dedicated territory, a comprehensive franchise package and launch marketing pack, initial onboarding, training and support, and access to our know-how and technology platform.
Application process
There is a four-stage process. First, an initial introductory call with our team. Second, an Expression of Interest, where you submit your details and sign a confidentiality agreement. Third, a Discovery Meeting in person, where we review the full Franchise Information Memorandum together. Fourth, a Decision Stage to evaluate the opportunity and the next steps together.
It is best suited to motivated individuals who want to combine commercial success with meaningful work. As the prospectus puts it, the opportunity is best suited to those who are hands-on, proactive and motivated to build relationships in their local community.
The first step is to request the full prospectus directly from the website.
