Wallingford is an historic market town and civil parish in South Oxfordshire, 13 miles south of the city of Oxford. Historically located in the county of Berkshire, it was transferred to Oxfordshire in 1974 along with a number of other local towns and villages. 12 miles north of Reading, and 11 miles north-west of Henley-on-Thames, Wallingford has played an important part in England’s history since the Dark Ages.
Like many major towns in Oxfordshire, Wallingford’s growth was reliant on the River Thames which, in addition to the Oxford Canal, was the key method of long-distance transportation for a number of years.
Wallingford is surrounded by number of towns and villages, including Didcot, East Hagbourne, Sutton Courtenay, and Abingdon to the East, Benson, Shillingford, Dorchester, Stadhampton, and Chalgrove to the North, Watlington, Nettlebed, and Nuffield to the East, and Cholsey, Woodcote, and Goring to the South.
We are pleased to be working with Oxfordshire County Council and other local organisations to support those in need of care at home.
