What does an hourly or overnight carer do?

The role can be very varied depending on your client’s needs. It may be in one role you are providing companionship, spending time with clients doing what they love best such as taking their beloved pet out for a walk. Other roles require more hands-on care for clients with more specific needs such as dementia, with duties including assistance with bathing and getting dressed.

As a TrustonTap carer, you’ll be supporting a customer in a variety of tasks, including:

Companionship

Providing friendly company and emotional support.

Personal care

Assisting with bathing, dressing and, when necessary, continence.

Medication

Support with administration of daily medicine as required.

Mobility assistance

Offering someone an arm to lean on around the house.

Meal preparation

Help with preparing and cooking nutritious meals.

Household chores

Keeping on top of washing, and dusting etc.

Running errands

Collecting prescriptions or popping to the supermarket.

Pet care

Feeding, walking and looking after a beloved pet.
