Mental health care
Good mental health is about feeling well in your own mind, your ’emotional health’ or ’emotional well-being’.
Mental health can change over time, often because of life events which cause distress or unhappiness leading to depression or anxiety and panic attacks or it can happen with no apparent cause such as Bipolar disorder.
Mental health difficulties are very common and affect one in four of us at some point in our lives. Many people feel afraid that no one will understand them, that the problem is ‘all in their head’, that they won’t be taken seriously, or that what they are experiencing is unusual.
A mental health difficulty, such as consistently feeling sad or angry, which goes on for a long time, can have a serious effect on your life.
At TrustonTap we understand every situation is difficult but with the right carer we can help you manage your day-to-day life by:
- providing emotional support.
- helping them to manage day-to-day tasks.
- supporting them in challenging times.
- being an advocate for them: make phone calls for them, listen to their views and concerns, help explore their options and rights and help them contact relevant people.
- encourage and support them to seek help.
- encourage them to feel confident in making decisions.
What does our Mental Health care include?

You will have the same carer every time as continuity is critical. Our carers will encourage you to lead an active life as possible.
Care can be from short regular visits to overnight care or a full-time live-in carer.
The lack of independence and frustration can have an effect on your mental well-being. The right carer can help restore confidence and a sense of purpose.
