Local Carers

We're here to answer any questions you may have

How soon can I receive care?

Once we know your needs, we will approach our local Bedford carers, who usually respond within 24-48 hours.

As soon as we know their availability we will send you their profiles. It’s then up to you to decide which carer you like and we can book that carer straightaway.

We recognise that it is helpful to meet a carer in advance of agreeing to an engagement. Where this cannot be easily arranged in person, we encourage you to arrange a video call (e.g. via Skype) with your recommended carer.

How much does home care from TrustonTap cost?

Prices range from £17 – £25/hour depending on your care needs and carer experience.

How do I find the right carer?

We will send you a selection of profiles for carers in the Bedford area, and you choose your carer dependent on your specific requirements.

We will ensure that you have the same carer each time, we will not send you different carers without contacting you first. This is usually only due to sickness or leave.

What checks are done on TrustonTap carers?

We carefully screen and interview all our trusted carers via a multi-stage recruitment process to ensure that all our carers are competent, compassionate, kind, honest and reliable.

Everyone is fully-vetted and DBS background checked.

Plus, we obtain two references on all carers that we take on, to ensure the good character of the people who will be supporting you.

We also conduct thorough individual interviews.

Over the last 3 years, we have taken on less than 5% of carers that have applied to us.

We only list those individuals who we would be happy to recommend to our own relatives.

The historic town of Bedford is the county town of Bedfordshire in England. The 2006 Census showed a population of 106,940 for the Bedford built-up areas (including Biddenham and Kempston). The population of Bedford Borough was 157,479 that year.

It is believed that King Offa of Mercia was buried here, after he built Offa’s Dyke on the Welsh border. Bedford was founded at a ford on the Great Ouse, which runs through the town. Henry I built Bedford Castle, but it was destroyed in 1224. Bedford became a borough in 1165 and has been represented in Parliament since 1265. The city is known for its large Italian population.

Bedford is on the Midland Main Line, and Thameslink operates stopping services to London and Brighton, as well as East Midlands Railway express services to London and the East Midlands.
