Once we know your needs, we will approach our local Thame carers, who usually respond within 24-48 hours.
As soon as we know their availability we will send you their profiles. It’s then up to you to decide which carer you like and we can book that carer straightaway.
We recognise that it is helpful to meet a carer in advance of agreeing to an engagement. Where this cannot be easily arranged in person, we encourage you to arrange a video call (e.g. via Zoom) with your recommended carer.
Prices range from £20 – £30/hour depending on your care needs and carer experience.
We will send you a selection of profiles for carers in the Thame area, and you choose your carer dependent on your specific requirements.
We will ensure that you have the same carer each time, we will not send you different carers without contacting you first. This is usually only due to sickness or leave.
We carefully screen and interview all our trusted carers via a multi-stage recruitment process to ensure that all our carers are competent, compassionate, kind, honest and reliable.
Everyone is fully-vetted and DBS background checked.
Plus, we obtain two references on all carers that we take on, to ensure the good character of the people who will be supporting you.
We also conduct thorough individual interviews.
Over the last 3 years, we have taken on less than 10% of carers that have applied to us.
We only list those individuals who we would be happy to recommend to our own relatives.

Dementia isn’t a single condition — it’s an umbrella term for a group of disorders that affect memory, thinking, and behaviour. While Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type, there are others that people and families should be aware of. Each form of dementia brings its own symptoms and challenges, so understanding the differences can help you get the right diagnosis and support for your loved one.
Continue readingCaring for someone with dementia involves balancing medical, emotional, and practical needs while preserving dignity and independence. A person-centred approach focuses on routines, preferences, and meaningful activities, supported by tailored care plans and networks of family, professionals, and community groups. Daily care covers communication, hygiene, nutrition, mobility, safety, and managing behavioural changes. Caregivers should adapt environments, use clear communication, and plan ahead for health, transport, and end-of-life decisions. Self-care for carers is essential to avoid burnout and ensure sustainable, compassionate support.
Continue readingDementia and Alzheimer’s are often used as if they mean the same thing. They don’t. Dementia describes symptoms that affect memory, thinking and daily life; Alzheimer’s is one cause of those symptoms. Knowing the difference helps families get the right tests and support—faster.

The market town of Thame and its civil parish are located in Oxfordshire, about 13 miles (21 km) east of the city of Oxford and 10 miles (16 km) southwest of Aylesbury. Thame is named after the River Thame running along the north side of the town and forming part of the county border with Buckinghamshire. In addition to the town, the parish includes the hamlet of Moreton to the south. Statistics from the 2011 Census show that there are 11,561 people living in the parish. During the Anglo-Saxon period, Thame belonged to the kingdom of Wessex.
Thame is surrounded by a number of notable towns and villages, including Long Crendon and Haddenham to the North, Chinnor and Princes Risborough to the East, Watlington to the South, and Waterperry, Wheatley and Oxford to the West.
